Happy New Year!!!!!

So much has been going on, there has been no time to write! Gen is vacationing with her hubby, 10 days at the deer lease, mostly just the two of them. They are celebrating their 27th wedding anniversary, which was yesterday. What a blessing!

Well, that is truly a joy for them, but it changes life for me somewhat. I’ve never doubted all that Jeanne does for Mom and Dad, but when I’m having to take up the slack, it really comes home all that she does. My “parent duty” jobs are usually chauffeuring, pay bills and keeping finances straight, all business calls or trips, and trying to keep Jeanne sane. This week, however, I am nurse, housekeeper, cook, laundress, 911 call receiver (whenever something goes wrong, from tape player not working to burst pipes, Jeanne takes care of it!), plus my usual duties.

That wouldn’t even be too much, but this rain we’ve been having has caused the creek between our house and Mom’s to flood, so we have to go the long way around, which is about 20 miles each way! Add to that our precious god children are visiting for a few days, and you’ll begin to understand my lack of postings!

So, that’s about all the writing I have time for, but I’m going to include some pictures of our New Year’s Eve party with our boys and our precious friends, the Watts. It is becoming a tradition to spend New Year’s Eve with them, one we love very much. Our boys love their kids, and Allen told me this morning that the best thing about last night was spending it with his relatives and friends. I love that he calls our friends his friends!

New years eve dans 003Always a bonfire for New Year’s, but wood was scarce this year, so the fire was pretty small.  Beth was roasting marshmallows just the way I like them!

I pray that you all have a wonderful new year, and that it is more wonderful because you are loving our Lord Jesus more each day.

God bless your day – and your year!

About Petty Bunch

The Petty Bunch is what we have called our family since Bill and I (Janina) began our family back in the early 1980s. We have gone down many roads together - homeschooling our kiddoes, enjoying the freedom of entrepreneurship many years, working at "real jobs" other years. Through it all, we have been loved with God's everlasting love, and have found that underneath are His everlasting arms! We are blessed to have been married for over 39 years, and have 3 incredible adult children, a wonderful daughter-in-law, an amazing son-in-law, and TEN grandchildren: five precious granddaughters, and 5 handsome grandsons - so far. We are empty nesters, still enjoy the life of an entrepreneur and the freedom it gives us to continue enjoying our kids and now, their kids!

  1. Happy New Year! Looks like y’all had fun. 🙂
I was barely-barely awake, and sitting next to a small child, and gazing at four inches of fresh snow on my parents’ back porch. It was great. 🙂

Of course it wasn’t sparkly water! It was Vita Meata Veggimen. Full of mitamins, vegg-i-tables, and vinerals! So go out to your nearest store and buy you a great big bottle of. . . this stuff! It’s delicious! Tastes just like candy!
. . .Happy New Year! We had a blast! And thanks for lending Dannye and Pam to us for the night! We had fun! Love you Mrs. Nina! (And to steal/borrow Gen’s sign off) Love and Lucy!

What fun you had!  That is wonderful!  It is so great for my boys.  When they were here Saturday I asked Al if he was having fun at Aunt Nina’s and he said, “It was AMAZING!”  And that was BEFORE New Year’s Eve. ha  He is absolutely the sweetest kid.  Tab and I talked on the phone today and I told her that and also that it was a good thing that Adam is so gorgeous; otherwise someone might have killed him by now. ha ha  I think the devil has an imp assigned full time to Adam.  He just has to see how far he can push the envelope!
We’ll see you all tomorrow afternoon when you bring the A-Team home.
Love and sparklers!  (I thought of one!!!!!)
