Update on the infirmary

Praise God, Dannye is much better today.  She has a pretty bad cough, but is feeling more like herself than she has in a week!

The bad news is that Dad is now sick with the flu.  He not only has the respiratory kind, but the stomach symptoms as well!  Pray for him, and Mom.  She is doing well, and we don’t want her to catch this!

Now, in other news:

The Cabin…..

dad's stuff 015

Nathanael is back at work (well, he was supposed to be but now possibly has the flu!), so the cabin progress is slow right now.  This pic is last weekend, and the instrument he is playing is the laser thingy they are using to try to make this new cabin level!  It was so cold last Saturday, and he already had some flu symptoms, but he worked like a Trojan to get the blocks ready for the floor joists.  Lots of digging, leveling, re-digging, leveling, filling, leveling…..  Bill wasn’t able to be there until later, but Nathanael got a lot done by himself.  This was only momentary insanity, as he rarely allows himself to get off task even to eat!

Speaking of the cabin, this is the “baby” that I mention being born in the cabin over 10 years ago.  Isn’t he beautiful?  He is named (by coincidence, actually) after the builder of the cabin, my father-in-law!  Cool, huh?

Back to the workday…. They are using steel to frame this little cottage, and this is my amazing hubby doing his thing.

Mel & Sarah party Feb

Now, while the workday was going on, I was doing my best to get to Melody’s birthday party.  I got their about 30 minutes before it was over, don’t even ask me what all happened!  This is Kakie during the decorating stage – I obviously wasn’t there, but Dan and her trusty camera were!  Mel and Sarah celebrated their birthdays together, at Carrie’s, and by looking at the pics Dan took, it was loads of fun.  I’m going to give Dannye an opportunity to post pics about that, if she can find the time now that she feels better!

The Valentine Banquet….

Okay, last night was NBBC’s Couples Valentine Banquet.  Bill and I didn’t think we would be able to go after all the extra expenses (Dr., medicines, unbelievable electric bill…), but on Wednesday we were told to come anyway, that our ticket was taken care of!!!!!  I was so blessed, I had really been looking forward to it.  Valentine Banquet 019

Nathanael and Emily were going, and we just made it a double date!  Our banquet is always fun, and we are completely blessed.

Every year, the decorations are more beautiful.  We have very talented ladies at our church, and they always outdo themselves!

Valentine Banquet 043

Four men from our church made up this Barber Shop Quartet, and they sang everything from “Sweet Adeline” to “It’s a Great Morning to Wake Up in Heaven”!  What fun they were, and sounded good, too!

Valentine Banquet 054 Joe and Heather were our speakers.  Their relationship is a blessing to see!  Joe is an evangelist, and they just got back from Australia/New Zealand.  Emily summed up their message very well:  “…intimacy and oneness in marriage is truly accomplished when we are seeking the Lord fervently, and sharing with our spouse our deepest, most private conversations with God produces a oneness that becomes the fountain from which all other forms of intimacy are born.” Good stuff!

Aren’t we beautiful?  After all the singing, games, and message, our Pastor had all the husbands lead their wives in a word of prayer.  There is NOTHING more precious than hearing your husband praying for you – knowing he has petitioned Almighty God on your behalf!  I am truly blessed!

Valentine Banquet 053

This was the newest Valentine at the banquet.  She is number 10 in their family, and her name is Annie Brooke.  Her parents look like kids, don’t they?!  They say she is a great baby, just nurses and sleeps!  She is truly a beauty.

Photo Shoots…..

This last picture is my dear hubby posing for a self portrait to show us some photo sites.  Isn’t he handsome?

Like I said, I am truly blessed!

Have a Blessed Day, and stay away from the flu bug!

About Petty Bunch

The Petty Bunch is what we have called our family since Bill and I (Janina) began our family back in the early 1980s. We have gone down many roads together - homeschooling our kiddoes, enjoying the freedom of entrepreneurship many years, working at "real jobs" other years. Through it all, we have been loved with God's everlasting love, and have found that underneath are His everlasting arms! We are blessed to have been married for over 36 years, and have 3 incredible adult children, a wonderful daughter-in-law, an amazing son-in-law, and SEVEN grandchildren: four precious granddaughters, three handsome grandsons - so far. We are empty nesters, still enjoy the life of an entrepreneur and the freedom it gives us to continue enjoying our kids and now, their kids!

  1. Great pictures! Glad Dannye is feeling better!
The Valentine’s Banquet looks like it was beautiful! I’m so glad everyone was feeling well enough to go.
Hope you all have a blessed week!

  2. Yay fr pictures!! (Ah, when my husband was feeling well…. ) We had such fun at the Banquet, and while building the cabin is not so much FUN, per se, it’s good to get things accomplished.
I might need to do some laundry…the Man’s fever broke just before midnight, and he sweated through the sheets. He spent the rest of the night on the little loveseat in the living room, where (panicked upon waking up alone) I found him this morning. Our other sheets are already in the laundry….at your house. πŸ™‚ Let me know if anyone’s coming into Conroe today, my laundry basket and I would love to hitch a ride.

I loved all the pictures.  They were great.  You all do look beautiful and I love those big red candles.  Everything looks so festive and romantic.  I am very glad Dannye is better.  Adam had to stay home from church with Popo this morning.  He woke up with a fever and not feeling so good.  Right before we left he woke up from a short nap and thought he felt fine and wanted to go to church.  Marty told him if he wanted to go to get dressed.  No one had actually touched him yet and had no idea he had fever.  Marty gave him a little hug and told him he wasn’t going anywhere.  Of course he got upset but did’t put up a terrible fuss.  I think he realized he was not feeling so hot.  When we got home he had just woke up from another nap.  We had to pick up some children’s Motrin on the way home so he has been dosed now.
    Take care.  Love,

Thanks for the explanation about the 100 inning ball game.  I was perplexed. ha  I saw that the guys had on uniforms so knew it was part of some kind of structure but no one plays 100 innings. ha ha  I’ll bet it is fun.  Scooter’s boss, Sharon, called me this afternoon to ask for prayer for her daughter’s boyfriend, a high school Senior.  He was going to be playing in a baseball tournament this afternoon and four college scouts were supposed to be there.  Ryan and his family were so nervous and his dad had called Sharon and told her they needed to pray hard.  She told me that she said, “I’ll call Bettye!!!”  HA HA HA So I sent up a big prayer for him, right in the middle of a Wal-Mart aisle.  ha  Shc called me again while ago and was so excited.  He had smashed a huge home run over the fence that she said she doesn’t think has come down yet.  ha  Ryan is a big, beautiful boy.  Handsome, wholesome, great kid.  He has become a fifth child to the Mosleys.  He works for them part time and in the summer and even goes on weekend trips and vacations with them.  ha  He has all the interests that their kids have, fishing, hunging, rafting, etc.  Back to the tournament.  His dad called Sharon and said that since they got home they had had 15 phone calls!!!!!  One junior college has made him a firm offer to start as a freshman.  Some pro scout (can’t remember which one) gave him a form to fill out.  There is another tournament Saturday and that is the first day the big schools are first allowed to scout them.  So she made me promise to keep the prayers going.  ha  They are all so excited.  Arlon, Sharon and their kids wake, eat and sleep baseball and softball.  Both their girls are excellent players on the varsity team.  Oh, Ryan is also a pitcher who has already been clocked at 91.    I hope good things happen for him.
