Praise God, Dannye is much better today. She has a pretty bad cough, but is feeling more like herself than she has in a week!
The bad news is that Dad is now sick with the flu. He not only has the respiratory kind, but the stomach symptoms as well! Pray for him, and Mom. She is doing well, and we don’t want her to catch this!
Now, in other news:
Nathanael is back at work (well, he was supposed to be but now possibly has the flu!), so the cabin progress is slow right now. This pic is last weekend, and the instrument he is playing is the laser thingy they are using to try to make this new cabin level! It was so cold last Saturday, and he already had some flu symptoms, but he worked like a Trojan to get the blocks ready for the floor joists. Lots of digging, leveling, re-digging, leveling, filling, leveling….. Bill wasn’t able to be there until later, but Nathanael got a lot done by himself. This was only momentary insanity, as he rarely allows himself to get off task even to eat!
Speaking of the cabin, this is the “baby” that I mention being born in the cabin over 10 years ago. Isn’t he beautiful? He is named (by coincidence, actually) after the builder of the cabin, my father-in-law! Cool, huh?
Back to the workday…. They are using steel to frame this little cottage, and this is my amazing hubby doing his thing.
Now, while the workday was going on, I was doing my best to get to Melody’s birthday party. I got their about 30 minutes before it was over, don’t even ask me what all happened! This is Kakie during the decorating stage – I obviously wasn’t there, but Dan and her trusty camera were! Mel and Sarah celebrated their birthdays together, at Carrie’s, and by looking at the pics Dan took, it was loads of fun. I’m going to give Dannye an opportunity to post pics about that, if she can find the time now that she feels better!
The Valentine Banquet….
Okay, last night was NBBC’s Couples Valentine Banquet. Bill and I didn’t think we would be able to go after all the extra expenses (Dr., medicines, unbelievable electric bill…), but on Wednesday we were told to come anyway, that our ticket was taken care of!!!!! I was so blessed, I had really been looking forward to it.
Nathanael and Emily were going, and we just made it a double date! Our banquet is always fun, and we are completely blessed.
Every year, the decorations are more beautiful. We have very talented ladies at our church, and they always outdo themselves!
Four men from our church made up this Barber Shop Quartet, and they sang everything from “Sweet Adeline” to “It’s a Great Morning to Wake Up in Heaven”! What fun they were, and sounded good, too!
Joe and Heather were our speakers. Their relationship is a blessing to see! Joe is an evangelist, and they just got back from Australia/New Zealand. Emily summed up their message very well: “…intimacy and oneness in marriage is truly accomplished when we are seeking the Lord fervently, and sharing with our spouse our deepest, most private conversations with God produces a oneness that becomes the fountain from which all other forms of intimacy are born.” Good stuff!
Aren’t we beautiful? After all the singing, games, and message, our Pastor had all the husbands lead their wives in a word of prayer. There is NOTHING more precious than hearing your husband praying for you – knowing he has petitioned Almighty God on your behalf! I am truly blessed!
This was the newest Valentine at the banquet. She is number 10 in their family, and her name is Annie Brooke. Her parents look like kids, don’t they?! They say she is a great baby, just nurses and sleeps! She is truly a beauty.
This last picture is my dear hubby posing for a self portrait to show us some photo sites. Isn’t he handsome?
Like I said, I am truly blessed!
Have a Blessed Day, and stay away from the flu bug!
