My boys are here for their last visit of the Summer. Allen and Adam are our godsons, and we have had the immeasurable blessing of keeping them often since they were born. Al is the oldest, 12 years old now. He was undoubtably the most laid back baby I’ve ever known! He is a jolly young man for the most part, although his little brother can really get to him! Adam is 7. Their birthdays are 3 days less than 5 years apart. They are either best buds, or fighting like cats and dogs – sometimes actually at the same time! We enjoy our time with them, and hope they enjoy it, too. I dread the thought that they might get to that age that Aunt Nina’s house is no longer fun.
Here are some wonderful photos that Dannye Reigh took at church today…
I had the privilege a couple of years ago of praying with Allen to receive Christ as his Savior! What a joy!! Bill was even allowed by Al’s church to be in the baptismal pool when he was baptized! We are now praying for Adam to come to an understanding of his need for Christ. Both boys also have the blessing of living part-time with their Grammy (my sister), who shares God’s love with them.
During the school year we mostly only get the boys on holidays, so this last visit of the Summer is kinda bittersweet. I find myself counting the days until our Family Reunion in October!
May God bless your week!
What great pictures!thanks Dannye. What a loving godmother you are Mrs. Petty.thanks!
Thank you, thank you, Dannye and Nina for taking and posting the pictures of my sweet boys. I want to see them!!!!! They can be the very sweetest boys in the world. And they can almost be little devils. ha Cute, cute pictures, Dan. Having you all as their God Family has been the best singular thing that has happened in their lives. What a terrific, positive impact all of you have had. I can not thank you enough for that!Love yoi,B
@ALDOG1 – I think your humility causes you to miss the GREAT impact you have on their lives! They adore their Grammy!!!
they are such sweet boys—i love how much they love my “little Roo”! (And you know me—anyone who adores my baby has my love and gratitude!) 🙂
Great Pictures! They are really sweet boys! I love the way that Adam is always excited to see me and give me a hug!
PS. They both call me Aunt Amy!?! So cute!
I think I am a positive influence for them. I know I try to be but I love when they are a part of your household. They are so influenced by what they have learned from you all’s examples.
What a privilege it is for us all to have been included in the A team’s lives! I have had the opportunity to know them so much better than all the other Strader and Martin kids. It is truly a joy.
@AuntGen – @ALDOG1 – I just think they’re fun!
Oh how I relate to these pictures! Monkey on my back…Adam reminds me of my sister Cathy, even his mischievous expressions! These will be treasured photos for years
