Flying trip almost over!

We are on our way home from Pensacola, driving through Lake Charles.  Dan graciously uploaded some pics of our time with Pamela and Will so I could show them to you.

We left the house much later than I hoped to, so we didn’t actually arrive in Florida until about 8 Saturday morning.  We did sleep a couple of hours at the Alabama Welcome Center, but at least we weren’t totally dead when we saw Pamela.

Bill and Will were able to fix Pamela’s truck in short order (and not much cash, praise the Lord!) so we were able to spend the rest of the day just visiting.  While Bill and Will worked on the truck, Pamela, Dannye, and I went to The Grill for some amazing Pumpkin Bread (definitely not on my diet, but perhaps worth it!).

The Campus House (privately owned by PCC) allowed us to check in early, so we got unloaded, then went to Red Lobster for a late lunch.  I did try to get my focus back on high protein, low carb with grilled shrimp, but I will admit to eating one cheese biscuit.  Oh my word, they are so good!!!

Pamela and Dannye went to a recital on campus while Will studied in his dorm and Bill and I relaxed in the hotel room.  We must have really relaxed, because we didn’t know anything until this morning!!!!!  We missed the girls coming back, Will coming for a quick visit before his curfew, and the girls watching a movie!  Bill nor I heard ANY of it!

This morning we got up and went to the Campus Church, then took family pictures since the four of us were together.  While we were waiting for Bill to get set up, Dannye tried to catch a kitten to take home with us, but discovered quickly how very WILD these kitties were.  It really tore her hand up!  It was so beautiful, though – a calico.  I was actually wanting the white with orange ears, but it was sneakier than the calico and got away.  Dannye has been vexed with herself all evening because cats aren’t supposed to win!

After the photo session, we checked out of our hotel and all went to eat Mexican food.  We took entirely too long with more visiting and such, but could hardly tear ourselves away.  Bill wanted to get home much earlier than this – we probably won’t be home until after midnight – but it was such a good visit.

Here are a few photos of our trip…

Not sure what the face is for, but probably just for the camera

As you can see from his shades, there were cameras always pointed at them!

And now the love of his life is reflected there…

A lovely sunset on the way home.

As always, coming home is bittersweet.  I hate to leave Pamela, but home means all else that is dear to me.  Besides, in one month, Pamela is coming home as a student at PCC for the last time!  She will be home for 5 months before she and Will marry and move back to Florida for the next two years.  I’m pretty excited about that!

God bless your day!

About Petty Bunch

The Petty Bunch is what we have called our family since Bill and I (Janina) began our family back in the early 1980s. We have gone down many roads together - homeschooling our kiddoes, enjoying the freedom of entrepreneurship many years, working at "real jobs" other years. Through it all, we have been loved with God's everlasting love, and have found that underneath are His everlasting arms! We are blessed to have been married for over 39 years, and have 3 incredible adult children, a wonderful daughter-in-law, an amazing son-in-law, and TEN grandchildren: five precious granddaughters, and 5 handsome grandsons - so far. We are empty nesters, still enjoy the life of an entrepreneur and the freedom it gives us to continue enjoying our kids and now, their kids!

@broncomom – Oh, thank you so much for the prayers, Mary!  I lost 65 pounds on this plan about 8 years ago, but have gained most of it back in the last 2 years.  I felt soooo much better while on the diet, and when the weight was gone – my arthritis pain all but went away!  So back I go – I have too much to do to get old this early in life!  I’ll hold you up in prayer as well.
