Too Many Photos for Words!!

Yesterday, I wrote out a blog twice – with photos – and Xanga froze & lost it both times!  I gave up then, but will try again this morning.

Mama and Daddy are not doing as well as we wish they were.  Daddy was in the hospital last week, and while he is better physically, he doesn’t seem to have much fight in him.  He will hardly talk even when spoken to, and just seems to sit and stare into space.  I did gain a little encouragement yesterday evening when he went into his room, and rather than crawl into bed, he turned the TV on.  He hadn’t remembered how to work it in a couple of weeks because the physical shape he was in affected his mind.  Last night, he not only watched it, but also related to me some of the sports news he heard.

Mama had a horrible night Monday.  We’re pretty sure she is having a bad flare up of a UTI, which can also severely affect elderly people’s mental abilities.  She was up all night, which meant I was up all night.  She was too exhausted last night to do anything but sleep, and Gen is dealing with lab work today, so hopefully she will be on medication very soon.  I told her last night that if they don’t get this infection completely cleared up this time, I’m going to make her Dr. put her in the hospital with IV antibiotics until she is well!!!!  This has been going on for MONTHS!

Anyway, my photos begin with Pamela’s first shower that our dear friends, The Watts, gave her in February.

The food was amazing – the Watt family has known us for about 15 years, so they tried to have just about all of Pamela’s favorite snack/dessert foods.  Grandmommy Watt hosted the party at her home, which is just gorgeous, and made available her lovely accourtements, as well.

After the shower, several friends stayed to help us address wedding invitations – what a blessing!

Of course, dumb me – I forgot to have stamps for the reply cards or a map to the church included!

So now they are sealed & mailed!  In the words of Gomer Pyle, “What a dumb trick!”

For Pamela’s birthday, she and I went to Pensacola for a few days to visit Will.  We were there during PCC’s Bible Conference, which was GREAT, and we also had time for some R & R.

We went to the beach twice while we were in Pensacola

We picnicked the first trip – Will was the “cook”

As you can see, I’m not much into bathing suits right now.  It didn’t help that it was kinda cool while we were there, too.

Well, I feel like I’ve caught up with the past 3 months in one post, and you may feel like you are trying to get a drink out of a fire hydrant, but here it is.  Soon I will get pics of the family shower up.  “Soon” may be relative!

God bless your day!!

About Petty Bunch

The Petty Bunch is what we have called our family since Bill and I (Janina) began our family back in the early 1980s. We have gone down many roads together - homeschooling our kiddoes, enjoying the freedom of entrepreneurship many years, working at "real jobs" other years. Through it all, we have been loved with God's everlasting love, and have found that underneath are His everlasting arms! We are blessed to have been married for over 36 years, and have 3 incredible adult children, a wonderful daughter-in-law, an amazing son-in-law, and SEVEN grandchildren: four precious granddaughters, three handsome grandsons - so far. We are empty nesters, still enjoy the life of an entrepreneur and the freedom it gives us to continue enjoying our kids and now, their kids!

Glad you were successful today.  Xanga seemed to be having problems yesterday.  Hope your Dad and Mom are doing better.  I agree about the infection going on too long.  I had an ear that would not get well and have had mastoid surgery.  The Doc put me in the hospital 3 days on IV and it did clear it up. Love the shower pictures…so much fun and celebration.  We did the toilet paper dresses too for one of my DIL’s showers…it is amazing how well they turn out! How does Will like Pensacola?  We appreciate the tuition there being more affordable than many private colleges.  They said they put money from Abeka books into it.  We have heard it is very strict.  Beautiful area there,I am sure they will treasure the memories, being newly weds there.Cute cute pics of your granddaughter!

Awesome!I made a toilet paper dress on Emily a few years ago at a friend’s shower and won third place!  It was cute, but nothing compared to the ones they came up with at Pam’s shower!  Impressive!

  3. maryhurlbut says:

I gotta run to our bible study, just wanted you to know I smiled over every photo and so enjoyed this post! HUGS

  4. cuteness abounds. 🙂

  5. I love the cute toes! How adorable! It looks like Pamela had a great shower! I’m glad for her. The showers are *so* much fun.

@ABAHM – Pamela and Will both enjoy(ed) PCC.  Yes, it is strict, but unless you have authority issues, it is very tolerable.  Over these past 4 1/2 years that Pamela was there, we have discovered that those who buck rules & authorities (not necessarily only at home, but say, teachers, church leaders) have a hard time at PCC.  Pamela is rather compliant, and while she thought some of the rules were dumb, she knew it would only last a little while.  And the good education and Bible training she and Will have received were well worth it to them.  It is a BEAUTIFUL campus, and they have an amazing Sports Center!  Lots of fun to be had in the midst of the learning!

  7. ALDOG1 says:

I love all the shower pictures but nothing can compare with the Ruly shots.  What a precious baby.  I love the toes but I have to say the two with the chicken are the big winners, especially the second one.  That one answers the question, “Why did the chicken cross the road?”  To get to Auralai!  She looks like she is saying, “Come on, you can do it!”  This one needs to be entered in the rodeo.  The bird bath pictures make you want to just grab her and squeeze her.  Well, you know I am waiting anxiously for the pictures of the family shower.  By the way, you are not allowed to post any that show Aunt Bettye’s profile. ha ha

  8. AuntGen says:

Yeah, those bird bath pics are cute, but the chickens are my favorite, too.

  9. wondering04 says:

Well first and most importantly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY.  I loved the pictures, and each one got sweeter. Never thought of a toilet paper dress, what a good idea, and your little grandchild, how precious.Heather
