I haven’t had a lot of time to update, and for some reason I don’t feel up to doing it now; but I have some time tonight, so here goes!
It seems to me that my life gets busier the more I try to slow down. The photo business is pretty steady, and now that Bill is working from home rather than going to a workplace everyday, he needs me more. Add to that the schooling of my sweet niece, Melissa, and the as-often-as-possible seeing my grandchildren, I am meeting myself coming and going! Oh, and we’ve taken over the job of caring for our subdivision pool, too!
Bill has been so busy, he says working harder than he did when he had a job! He loves working out of our home, and other than sometimes missing the benefits that came with his job, I love it, too! He has been mechanicking, towing, hauling scrap-iron, frame-building, and, of course, photography. We are not certain that this will be enough, so he is also continuing the job hunt and thinking of other money-making ideas. The Lord is faithful, and we see it everyday!
Today was one of those up and down days. We attended a funeral this morning. Bill’s sweet aunt passed away earlier this week. She was diagnosed probably less than a month ago with colon cancer, but it was caught too late. I loved Aunt Annie. My kids always called her “Aunt Nanny”. She is Bill’s mom’s baby sister. She had the most sugary southern drawl – she was born and raised in Houston, but her accent was way different than her sister’s. She loved to laugh. Many years ago she asked if she could make my girlies Easter dresses, and I was so blessed! They were the most beautiful, ruffly, matching dresses.
Several years ago, I had surgery, and stayed in the hospital overnight. When I woke up the next day, there was a note laying on my bed. Inside was a sweetly written poem speaking of a “sweetly sleeping princess” and how the writer didn’t want to awaken her from her dreams. Annie had come to the hospital to visit me, but couldn’t stand to wake me up, so she wrote a poem right there! She was one of the most loving people I ever knew. I will miss her so much.
The “up” of my day was in one little phone call. Pamela had an appointment today for an ultrasound to discover the sex of our little grandbaby. Between the funeral service and the graveside service, we got the news: our Baby Girl is having a Baby Girl!! As much as I normally vote for boys first, I had a strong hunch that this one was a girl. Her name is Chloe Grace – Chloe is after my Mama. They will pronounce the “E” in Chloe, as is popular today. In Mama’s name, the “E” was silent – “Klo” was the pronunciation she used. To add further interest, this baby is due within days of Mama’s birthday, October 14th. We are so very excited about our little Chloe!!
And to add even more excitement, Pamela is coming for a visit. She will get here on Monday night, and will stay for about 2 weeks. Dannye and I will then drive her back home and stay with her for a couple of weeks! We will also be taking Allen and Adam on the trip with us. We are so looking forward to a visit with our godsons!! Since they’ve gotten older, our visits are few and far between!
I know there is so much more to write about, but it’s very late and I’m very tired. I hope you all have a great weekend!!
God bless your day!!
