Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire!

I know. It’s been almost a month since I said, “Part 1 of 3.”  I kept thinking about the next two installments, but they never happened. Never even came close! I would get on Xanga, catch up with my friends, then get off, without even opening the weblog template.  I just couldn’t, for some reason. Nothing big or world-shaking. I just couldn’t get in the mood to write!

As a quick update for my missing parts 2 & 3, we had a great Christmas with ALL of my kids here, although our entire month of December was interspersed with illness.  We all had something at one time or another, from the flu on down to the sniffles.  Chloe Grace ended up at the emergency room on her last day here, one night at an ER in Illinois on her way home, and then spent 4 days in the hospital when she got home – dehydration cause by lack of nursing due to how bad she was feeling with the Bronchialitis she developed.  Crazy!!

Dannye Reigh went home with Pamela, Will, and Chloe Grace.  Pamela was having gallbladder surgery in January, so Dan went to help out, as well as prolong the visit with her sister!  Of course, with Chloe spending the first four days in the hospital, Will and Dannye Reigh both getting the flu, and then Pamela’s surgery, there wasn’t much time for good visiting. So Dan is STILL in Michigan.  She will be flying home late next week, and we are all ready to see her.  The Texas grandkids aren’t real certain that Nee-Nee is supposed to go off this long!

On the home front, Bill and I are having a great time.  I’ve enjoyed our time alone, as well as time with the grands.  I had hopes of getting some big things accomplished, but not much has gotten done!  I feel pretty proud of myself that I’m keeping the house fairly clean and the laundry done!

We are trying to get the photography business lined out for the year.  We have had many inquiries, and quite a few appointments made.  Weddings are a big part of our repertoire, and we’ve enjoyed booking some sweet couples for this new year!  I love wedding photography best, even though it’s the most difficult and brings along with it the most pressure.  Bill and Dannye have to deal with the pressure more, so we try to keep our wedding bookings spread out, and fill in the gaps with portrait sessions.

One thing that disturbs our photography business is Bill’s REAL job.  Of course, we are ABSOLUTELY grateful for this job, but the flexibility of his former job, and then unemployment, is gone.  We simply have to work around HIS schedule for the bigger photography jobs.  Especially when his work takes him to NORTH DAKOTA! Yes, indeed, he had to make a haul to North Dakota, and for the first time, probably in my ENTIRE life, I was alone overnight.  I don’t remember at time ever that I didn’t have a sibling or my children with me, so this was a new experience for me.  It isn’t a favorite, either!  But he loved it, and I know he will do it again if the occasion arises, so I may have to get used to it!!

I think I’ll get off now.  I’d sure love to say I’ll write again soon.  But I’d better just say

God bless your day!!

About Petty Bunch

The Petty Bunch is what we have called our family since Bill and I (Janina) began our family back in the early 1980s. We have gone down many roads together - homeschooling our kiddoes, enjoying the freedom of entrepreneurship many years, working at "real jobs" other years. Through it all, we have been loved with God's everlasting love, and have found that underneath are His everlasting arms! We are blessed to have been married for over 39 years, and have 3 incredible adult children, a wonderful daughter-in-law, an amazing son-in-law, and TEN grandchildren: five precious granddaughters, and 5 handsome grandsons - so far. We are empty nesters, still enjoy the life of an entrepreneur and the freedom it gives us to continue enjoying our kids and now, their kids!

I loved your catchup post and hope the mood to write strikes you sooner than later next time!

  2. You have every reason to not be posting. But I’m glad to see this one. Praying everyone gets well and stays that way.

It’s too to catch up again!  Glad things are going better with Chloe.  That had to be scary with her in the hospital and such.  Glad everyone is feeling much better to.  The flu sure has made it’s rounds this year!  Have a wonderful weekend!

  4. I am glad that you are continuing to make it financially.  That is a big praise, even if schedules are crazy.  How wonderful to have so much family over the holidays!  You probably needed time just to recover from all of the work.  I have been alone for long periods of time because our construction work has been out of town.  Something that helps me is playing solitaire on the computer and listening to sermons.  I have had a lot of sermon input into my life in the last year.  I had so much, that I actually miss doing that now that my husband is home for a while.  Hang in there, you can do this.

LOL!  Loved your title!  Catching up is too hard!  So glad your baby Chloe is getting better.  This has surely been a wicked winter.  It’s so wonderful your girls are there for each other.  I was telling my hubby the other day ‘I wish I’d had a sister!  I love my brother but I always wanted a sister too!!’  Oh well, I’m thankful for my little bro!
